Nissan has just announced a brand new Sweepstakes called, The Home Charging Dock Sweepstakes.
To enter the Sweepstakes, visit Nissan LEAF’s official Facebook page or Nissan’s designated webpage for the contest and submit your contact information.
Nissan will be giving away 50 home charging docks to 50 lucky winners. These are Level 2 chargers and each winner will have the charger installed at no cost to them. Winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt.
To be eligible to win, you must be a legal resident of the 50 states and you must be 18 years of age or older. The Sweepstakes begins on January 24, 2012 at 12:00 a.m. EST and ends on April 2, 2012 at 11:59 p.m EST.
The Sweepstakes consists of ten weekly entry periods. Each Weekly Entry Period begins at the times and on the dates listed below.

The pull down menu for the states does not include all 50 states. Again I feel left out still waiting to order…

As a LEAF reservation holder since April 2010, I’m not interested in contests! Nissan should be focused on manufacturing to get their EV to customers as soon as possible..never mind the games!

Likewise. I placed my reservation on the first day possible 4/20/10, and are still waiting nearly 2 years later with no definitive time to order, just the implicit hope that March (when they are supposed to open it up in all 50 states) will truly mean I can place my order. In the mean time, I’ve seen my state get passed by during each release, and people in other states that never thought of owning a leaf, place their order ahead of me, and get their car in no time. This just feels like salt on the wound.

Finally recieved my Leaf in March. Just using the charger that came with the car. Works just fine. I charge from 8 pm to 8 am and have a full take every morning. Average about 40 miles per day. Which still saves me about $10 a day in gas cost from using my SUV. Still wouldn’t mind a free charger.
