The Ridgefield Playhouse is now home to a brand new car charging station.
“Everyone is trying to find ways to be a little more ‘green’ these days,” says Bruce Bennett of Bruce Bennett Nissan in Wilton. “An electric vehicle is a great way to ‘go green.’ The Nissan LEAF is 100 percent electric; you’ll never buy gas again.”
The Bruce Bennett Nissan-branded charging station was installed last week right in front of the Playhouse.
“It makes perfect sense,” says Allison Stockel, executive director of the Playhouse. “You’re sitting inside a movie theater or enjoying a show for several hours — it’s the perfect time to charge your electric car. And our hope is that the easier we make it for people to charge their cars, the more people will go electric.”
A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Aug. 1. The ceremony is open to the public and Bruce Bennett Nissan will bring a 100 percent electric, zero emissions Nissan LEAF for the first plug-in.
Zero emission vehicles are environmentally friendly and electric powered. Consumers just plug in and charge. Nissan LEAF owners can communicate with their vehicles remotely through a computer or smartphone.
The charging station at The Ridgefield Playhouse will be on Nissan’s national charging infrastructure list for owners of electric vehicles.
